Hello everyone, today we continue our tour of MLB jerseys for the 2021-22 season. Today we leave California for the next door Phoenix metro area in Arizona, which is also home to the NBA Suns. The MLB team in Phoenix is called the Arizona Diamondbacks, or D-backs for short. The Diamondbacks joined the league in the 1998 MLB expansion and are currently one of the two youngest teams (the other being the Tampa Bay Rays).
The Arizona Diamondbacks jersey color scheme is mainly red, black, supplemented by white and gray.
The City Edition of the Diamondbacks’ jersey debuted in June 2021, with a predominantly gold color and the text “Serpientes” on the chest that means “snake” in Spanish, inspired by Arizona’s unique desert and Spanish culture. This shirt is not too far from the team’s overall tone, but the primary and secondary color elements are reversed, with the team’s signature red as the secondary element. The jersey has the state flag of Arizona on the sleeve to remind people that this is a team from the Valley of the Suns.
